What are the Things to Note When Using Cavitation RF Machine?

What precautions should be taken when using a cavitation RF machine?

Although RF lipolysis is a relatively safe medical aesthetic procedure, the following precautions must be strictly observed:

Pre-Procedure Contraindications and Warnings

The following individuals are prohibited from or unsuitable for treatment:

  • Implanted electronic devices: Such as pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear implants, etc. Radiofrequency may interfere with the function of these devices.
  • Metal implants: If there are large metal prostheses (e.g., steel plates, screws) in the treatment area, the physician must be informed in advance to assess the risk.
  • Severe systemic diseases: Such as severe hypertension, heart disease (especially heart failure), diabetes, coagulation disorders, or those taking anticoagulant medication.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Treatment is prohibited to ensure the safety of the fetus.
  • Local skin issues: Severe infection, open wounds, eczema, or skin cancer lesions in the treatment area.
  • Immune system disorders: Those using immunosuppressive agents or suffering from connective tissue diseases (e.g., lupus erythematosus).

Intra-Procedure and Post-Procedure Risks

  • Common reactions: A warm or tingling sensation may be felt during treatment. Temporary redness, mild swelling, or bruising may occur after the procedure, typically subsiding within a few hours to days.
  • Serious complications (rare) :
    • Burns: Improper operation or equipment malfunction may result in skin burns.
    • Seroma/hematoma: Accumulation of fluid or blood under the skin.
    • Subcutaneous induration: Hard lumps may be felt within a few months after the procedure and usually resolve on their own.
    • Irregular skin surface: Caused by uneven energy output or improper post-procedure care.

Post-Procedure Care Guidelines

  • Moisturizing and sun protection: The skin is more sensitive after treatment, so it is important to keep it well moisturized and strictly protect it from sun exposure to prevent hyperpigmentation.
  • Wearing compression garments: For minimally invasive RF liposuction, compression garments should be worn as directed by the physician for 1 to 3 months to promote skin adhesion and reduce swelling.
  • Diet and lifestyle :
    • Drink plenty of water (more than 2000 ml per day) to help metabolize liquefied fat byproducts.
    • Avoid spicy foods, seafood, alcohol, and other irritants.
    • Avoid high-temperature environments such as saunas and hot yoga (for at least one week).
  • Moderate exercise: After recovery, engage in moderate aerobic exercise and strength training to maintain and enhance body contouring results.
